Farm pics for Erik second 70120

The Farm “Home” 1585 Nundle Road, Dungowan, NSW, Australia Hullo Erik, some mostly current pics of the farm right now......but I would like to say that you cannot have a farm without water or rain and I have neither at the moment. Still, it is a lovely place to live with a wide diversity of good and not so good people all around. I’m extremely lucky (no, skillful...!) in that I have a beautirful river frontage on my farm - though at times this has it’s downsides with people coming to the other side with the not-so-good habit of leaving their rubbish be- hind (grubs). Right now (my Sunday evening 5th January 2020) the smoke is much worse than shown in the leading pic......we have a major, uncontrolled bushfire happening to the east of me, it is in very rough country which does not allow our firefighters access to be able to deal with it. I have no crops under way, I have a total of three head of cattle - Barack, a cow and her heifer calf. I have enough hay to be able to feed them for some months but after that ....it just has to rain sometime. Hope you enjoy the pics, there is much I have not included but hey, that allows me space to do another sometime. Today it got to 43 degrees C but my air conditioner kept it down to 24.5 degrees inside...

My smoky farm with kangaroo drinker aka bird bath.

Heifer calf with no name yet......?

The old DB, she aint what she used to be..............but she still does the irrigation job. This tractor is what I use to move and then anchor the irrigation gun.

This is the travelling irrigator which sprays water onto the paddock......when we have any water that is.

This is my 60hp diesel irrigation engine and pump. The white box with dials is to enable timed shut-down of the engine and to shut it down in an emergency such as no oil or overheating.

This show the tractor and the irrigator working as they should.

Machinery shed with sprayer and spreader along with lots of other junk.

This is an old 24 run combine seeder that I bought second hand many years ago and have never used.

A favourite shady place for the cattle to rest.

My house/shed seen from down below.

A dry, dry paddock and “pods”. These are the black things which are used for irrigation - each pod contains a sprinkler.

The same dry, dry paddock showing my well which pump water up to tanks high on the hill above my house.

My veggie garden

This is a bird feeder that I’ve given up putting seed into because the cockatoos come and throw the food everywhere and terrorise all the other birds.

Tractor and plough from another age.

Another dry and dusty paddock down below - should be all green and productive.

Late snooze before school....was it...?

Dad did all the work and you get the medal..!

This gizmo is used to lay out fencing wire so that it does not get all twisted up..........mine never actually learned this.

My post hole digger which fits to the front of the tractor.

This implement is a “hay grabber’ for round bales - used way back when it used to rain and we could grow some hay.

My favourie Grandson.......!

My very dry and struggling orchard. I plan to put in an automatic watering system when I can - it has been too hot to even go there.
