Portable 5000 Litre Aviati on Fuel Systems This 5000 Litre Aviation refueller is a completely self-contained refuelling system built for maximum durability, minimal maintenance and ease-of-use. AFSE’s 5000L refueller bridges the gap between smaller fuel trailers and drum refuelling, and larger, permanently fixed refuelling systems. The refuel- ler was designed for emergency refuelling of aeromedical helicopters - unattended except for pilot and crew. The core requirement of the design was for it to be easy-to-use by a single operator under high- stress conditions to refuel fast - with the system set up to deliver 115 litres per minute.

The system is designed to be easily placed – and relocatable – with forklift pockets making it simple to place down and move across the airfield if needed. Four tiedown points allow the system to be fixed, but still easily moved if needed.

Pump System High-power, low-maintenance Yanmar diesel engine with automatic decompression for an easy start. Engine is equipped with approved flame arrestor and strangler for safety. Ebsray V15 vane pump located in cabinet for safety and security, driven via a reduction gearbox and 300mm driveshaft. 6” Peco Facet aviation fuel filter monitor ensures clean and dry fuel is delivered to your aircraft. In-date aviation delivery hose. Gammon Skyhawk aviation delivery nozzle for reli- able, fast flow. Piusi K24Ex digital flowmeter mounted at the nozzle lets user monitor fuel rate and amount right where they’re filling up. Total system flowrate, at nozzle, is 115 litres per minute.

Frame

Galvanised/stainless steel I-beam frame for maxi- mum strength and stability. Built-in forklift pockets at centre of gravity for lifting and moving of tank.EMPTY All welds cold-galvanised (galvanised steel)/passi- vated (stainless) to maintain corrosion resistance. Solid tank saddles to support full width of tank, welded along all areas of contact. Frame extends beyond the full dimensions of the tank and cabinets for maximum stability. Some dimensions and details - the complete assemblies can be transported with the ladder fixed. The vent pipes for both the tank and interstitial space are supplied and to be fitted on site. These elevate the vents to slightly above 4 metres from ground level as required by AS1940 and AS1692. Note that there are four bolt-down brackets if more secure locating is required.
